Summer is not an easy time for shelters
While we are getting ready for summer holidays, shelters are faced with a crisis. This is what Martina Kenny, Co-Founder of My Lovely Horse Rescue told us:
"It used to be that after Christmas was the busiest time for us. Now with Covid over, the housing crisis and restrictions on certain breeds there is no let up during the year. Abandoned and surrendered dogs have become a crisis. We have over 800 animals in our care today. Some are thankfully looked after by our fosters but a lot are on site at our farms in Kildare and Cork."
